(16) items including Japanese and Chinese woodblock printed traditional string bound books, many illustrated, some in color, including shunga, Kimono patterns, chop marks, illustrated narratives, Chinese medicine; and a Chinese copper sheet book having embossed archaic script in an engraved copper box; together with (5) Japanese erotic shunga prints and an ink on cardboard drawing

Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Condition: Good to Fair, overall light to heavy wear consistent with normal use; some having missing back covers or split bindings; most bumped and edge-worn; a few having loose pages; occasional chipped and creased covers / pages; occasional tears and losses; oxidation to copper book; tear to ink on cardboard drawing
