Illuminated Manuscript Assortment
(28) 17th to 19th century items, all on paper, including (23) sheets from the Quran having Arabic script in black ink and red and gold accents; a 6-panel gouache illustration of hunting scenes; a 2-leaf sheet having Arabic script on one side and gouache illustrations of figures in landscapes on the other; a 2-leaf sheet having Arabic script in black ink having blue and gold accents; and (2) leaves from the Bhagavad Gita, each having Sanskrit script in black ink with red, yellow and blue accents
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000
