Indian, Indo-Persian and Central Asian Arms and Armor Assortment
(4) items including shield having applied metal adornments; double-edged and fullered kindjal dagger having bone handle having maker stamp on both sides of blade with scabbard; a South Indian Mysori shamshir sword having curved, serrated blade and brass ram head pommel; and a combination pole arm head having integrated spear, axe and spike
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Condition: Very Good to Good, overall light to moderate wear consistent with age and normal use; shield missing cloth backing but retains (4) rings from which leather cords are tied; light oxidation to outside of shield with moderate oxidation on inside; light to moderate oxidation; wear on scabbard of kindjal including separation in metal, cloth ripping and shifting and loose metal mouth; kindjal having slightly bent point and tip
