1882, illegibly signed and dated lower right, depicting a central lane through a village including figures in an ornate gilt gesso frame having conservator label on reverse

Frame Size: 29 7/8 inches by 39 1/4 inches
Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with age and normal use, canvas having been mounted to board, painting having undergone professional conservation by Barry Bauman’s The Chicago Conservation Center in 1997 including cleaning and re-varnishing with some inpainting, occasional areas of fine craquelure without lifting or flaking, light dirt accumulation, light wear to frame
