African Weapon Assortment
(10) items including (6) mostly double-edged spear / pole arm heads having conical bases with some having fullers or raised median ridges; (2) ceremonial swords / axes; a double-edged dagger blade having spike shaped tang; and a ceremonial carved wood shaft having metal adornments
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Length: 31 inches, Width: 5 inches (spearhead with single hole in blade, tip to base (longest spearhead))
Condition: Very Good to Fair, overall light to heavy wear consistent with age, material and normal use; moderate to heavy oxidation to blades; wear to blades including blunted tips, chipped edges and areas of surface rust; shaft having broken portion; ceremonial axe missing handle; ceremonial sword having loose handle which may not be original
