20th century Easter Island (Ruatu) ancestor statue depicting an emaciated male figure with arms carved away from the body, skeletal details visible, the top of skull-like head incised, eye sockets, etched brow, elongated ears with typical pendant ornaments, nose, mouth showing teeth and a prominent chin with beard, elongated torso, slender legs with stub feet
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use, right eye and ear lobe missing, wood cracking due to age, chipping
