Chinese Jiandu ‘Tao Te Ching’ Bamboo Strip Book
Having (139) strips of imprinted calligraphy string bound, including title strip; together with (2) Islamic calligraphy texts painted on wood panels having drilled holes at top edges for hanging
Provenance: The Estate of George ‘Yorgo’ Demetrakopoulos; professor, assistant director of the Medieval Institute and assistant to the dean at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1965-2000

Height: 9 inches, Length: 56 inches (bamboo book)
Condition: Very Good, overall light wear consistent with normal use; a knot in the wood having popped, leaving a hole in an Islamic wood, similarly caused loss at left edge of the other panel also having a split
