19th to early 20th century, carved from a single block, having red, black and white paint and the remnants of paper strips bearing calligraphy attached; a red wax export permit stamp on top

Condition: Good, standing stable despite having significant insect damage to lower 4.5 inches, with losses to front and underside; insect damage appears to run vertically through heartwood, re-emerging at top; missing object from right hand; typical radial expansion checking from aging; overall light to moderate wear to paint surface
