Undated, signed ‘Hauer’ lower right, title translation being ‘The Monastery Soup’, in a bronze-tone gesso on carved wood frame having a crossed-out French language label verso attributing the work to Auguste-Felix Hauer (French, b.1854) next to a label reading ‘E. Benezit’ for Emmanuel Benezit (French, 1854-1920), a Parisian gallerist and author of ‘Dictionnaire Des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs Et Graveurs’
