(2) items, both having slant-top hinged lids, serpentine fronts, the knife box opening on interior designed to receive cutlery, a star inlay to lid interior and having rope-twist style edge binding and inlays of alternating ebony and satinwood and having brass closure and bale handles, the post box opening on partitioned interior for filing letters and having satinwood cross banding and urn motif engraved inlay to exterior and pictorial inlay to interior of lid

Condition: overall light to moderate wear consistent with normal use, both items lack keys, knife box having occasional losses to edge binding, cracks to front and lid veneers, lifting veneer on back, lid poorly fitted but closes, the post box having cracked lid veneers, worn engraved exterior lid inlay, damage to wood near lock from being pried open, lid poorly fitted but closes
